YLOD (Yellow Light of Death), Repair cost £30,
This issue is very common with the Playstation game console. On the Playstation 3 it is caused when the console overheats causing solder on the motherboard to become fluid. The console then cools down quickly this causes the solder joints to crack thus restricting data transfer. We fully reflow the motherboard and implement an additional heat sink modification. Please note this fix does not come with any warranty, the console will be shown as working to the customer. The reason for no warranty is the issue with the YLOD cannot truly be resolved long term without the use of a reballing machine. Therefore the fix we administer allows the console to be used for purposes such as, backing up your data, removing a game or even trading in for a new unit.
Freezing, Repair cost £30,
This fix is very similar to the YLOD process, therefore we offer no warranty on this fix and the pricing is exactly as YLOD. Is your console freezing up during normal use? Apart from being very frustrating this issue can make the console totally unusable. We will collect the console from your choice of location and repair prior to returning.
Not Reading Games or Movies, Repair cost £90,
Is your console not reading any media, or taking longer than usual to load? Prior to contacting us regarding this issue, it is suggested that you try alternative media and make sure any media you try is free from surface debris. For this fix we replace the entire blueray player with a fully reconditioned unit. The blueray drives for the PS3 phat (older model) are £75
Not Accepting Discs,
This can be caused by a few issues, we will diagnose the exact issue and give a repair price prior to repairing the console.
Hard Drive Errors,
Receiving errors such as "Cannot find correct hard disk"? Cost of replacing the hard drive varies depending on the model of console. The upgrade involves copying all current data from existing drive and restoring to upgraded drive, the data restore is only possible when upgrading due to lack of disk space and not due to a hard disk failure. We will diagnose the exact issue and then contact you with a repair price.
No Video,
Is your PS3 not showing up on the TV? In some cases, this is just a simple video reset. If this is the case with your console, we ill send an email link with instructions on how to try and resolve the issue yourself. If however the issue is not resolved by the above then we will diagnose and contact you with a cost prior to repair. This may also be caused by a faulty graphics chip, the repair and cost is the same as the YLOD fix.
No Power, No lights showing on your console,
This is likely to bethe power supply. However it could also be a power lead or motherboard issue, we will diagnose the exact cause and contact you with a repair cost.
Please note if we attend your premises, diagnose the fault and you choose not to get the console repaired the minimum call out charge of £30 applies.
All repairs, excluding the YLOD and any FREEZING issues are guaranteed for a 90 day period, any hardware supplied will carry the manufacturers warranty.
